The non negotiable innovations and protocols in my 2026 toolkit.

I’m always conflicted when I look back at my life until now. Distance smooths the bumps in the road. And although it always feels like life was lighter and easier, the reality is that, as females in midlife right now, we have so much more insight, innovation and options to navigating both menopause and how we choose to age.

So this week I want to share a few innovations, protocols and loved brands that I am loving in 2026 that simply weren’t available 10 years ago:

1. Revolutionary Sleep Buds: from ex BOSE engineers: Sleeplessness has been one of my biggest menopause symptoms. MOOD-FOOD helps enormously - and I really notice when I’m out of stock. But it doesn’t help with my frustration with external noises and, although I would not be without him, the sound of my husband…well… breathing! I thought I had tried every ear plug on the planet. Regardless of price point, they made my ear canal itch, got stuck to my hair, got lost in the duvet…made it impossible to sleep on my side or impossible to hear an intruder (yes, I want silence but not that much). Then I found Ozlo. Soft on the ear, they connect with your phone to provide white noise-scapes that activate in response to noise (eg: snoring..) but also allow you to hear the burglar / cat/ kid. I would describe them as early-stage - there are some glitches with the interface, the sounds and the app. But they’re innovating at pace. If you’ve tried everything without success, try these. They have a 30 day guarantee right now too.

2. Reframing weight training for longevity: Until very recently the weights area in any gym looked like a no-go zone for females. Now we’re often dominating it as we all wake up to the long-term value of resistance training and weights of our healthspan. We are also learning that the high-intensity routines we were sold may not be what our bodies need at certain times in our menopause transition too. My top tip for starting? Begin in the kitchen! You don’t need the bells, whistles and machines. Just someone to ensure you have good form. Check out two of our favourite Kates (!)  in the field of movement to learn more: Kate Rowe-Ham & Kate Oakley.

3. Fat as a friend: We now know how good ‘good fat’ is for us in midlife (and how bad UPF-laden low fat supermarket options we were taught to choose are too). But did you know that the source of fat in our diets may actually influence where fat is stored and how harmful it is? Declining oestrogen shifts fat storage toward our abdomen, starting a vicious circle of responses that compound it. Why? More abdomen fat means increased insulin resistance and inflammation which in turn, signal to our body to store fat even more. In the last 2 years I’ve completely changed the way I eat. I now prioritise healthy fats with every meal. I feel fuller. My waist has returned. And I’m finding it easier to maintain my weight too. Try adding GUT-INSTINCT to your daily protocol as well and hear the food noise fade.

4. The NO-TOX facial: I know not everyone will be able to get to London to experience a facial with Justine Masters - AKA The Alternative Facilist. But if you’re local - or planning a visit - her facials are a transformative blend of science-backed tools and holistic intervention. Better still? They last.

5. Scent as healing: Once seen as indulgent by Western culture,  modern clinical research shows that scent is not just sensory — it is neurological. In hospital settings, aromatherapy is used to reduce anxiety and improve patient outcomes during procedures, with studies showing measurable reductions in stress. Which is why the products from skin specialist Annee de Mamiel have become a non negotiable for me. Natural. Highly efficacious. Backed by their own self-funded studies. And rooted in a philosophy that has driven MPOWDER from the start; that Modern Science works best when it walks hand in hand with Mother Nature.

6. The at-home skin rejuvenator: Until very recently it felt like the tools you could purchase off-the-shelf were so mild they did very little other than make you feel you were ‘doing something’. But the Ante Beauty  is leading the charge with its highly efficacious RF device, the Kanyen. I use it 4-5 times a week whilst watching Netflix and have seen my sun spots fade and my jaw line tighten. To find out more, head to their website HERE.
